The 00.F5.060-3100 communication module is produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. By adding this board, a drive becomes an addressable node on the plant bus, which supports centralized setup, recipe downloads, and coordinated multi-axis control in material-handling and packaging machinery. The bus master manages deterministic cycle timing during network operation.

As a DP-slave, the module permits a segment to contain up to 32 stations before repeaters are required. Communication follows the open PROFIBUS-DP profile and can run as fast as 12.5 MBaud, allowing quick cyclic updates for demanding motion tasks. Signaling is carried over RS485, and the installation manual specifies shielded twisted-pair cable to reduce common-mode interference.
