Product Description:
The 00.F5.060-2004 is an axis drive controller produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts motion commands from a higher-level controller into regulated voltage and frequency for servo or induction motors used on packaging lines, handling systems, and other automated machinery. The modular unit combines local status indication, field wiring points, and parameter access in a cabinet-mounted housing. Operating conditions can be reviewed from the front of the unit without removing the drive from the cabinet, which limits disruption when checking status information or adjusting parameters.
The front panel shows operating codes on a five-digit, seven-segment display, providing immediate information about the running state, alarms, and parameter numbers. Local editing is performed through a touchpad, which replaces membrane keys with a sealed capacitive surface that tolerates dust and light moisture. For host communication, the drive provides a multiprotocol RS-232/RS-485 serial interface for exchanging control and diagnostic data with compatible equipment. The electrical connection uses a 9-pin D-sub socket that accepts standard shielded serial cables. An external programming keypad or program module can connect to the dedicated HSP5 port through an RJ45 socket. This separate port keeps programming traffic apart from the main control connection and reduces the risk of unintended parameter changes during local access.
Application code and parameter sets reside in onboard EEPROM with a capacity of 1 KB, retaining user data when the cabinet supply is disconnected. Program updates are transferred as a Binary MOT file, using a fixed format that supports checksum validation before data is written to memory. User extensions can be written in C, allowing deterministic routines to interact directly with motion registers and other accessible control functions. Source files are compiled and debugged in the Renesas Embedded Workshop suite. Completed program files can then be downloaded through the serial port without opening the enclosure. This workflow permits application logic, parameter data, and diagnostic routines to be managed through the available communication ports while the controller remains installed in its operating cabinet.
