The 00.B0.0BK-K001 communication card is supplied by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It installs beside the power electronics of an F5 inverter and creates a serial gateway between the axis drive and higher-level PLCs. By translating internal status, command, and diagnostic data into fieldbus messages, the card supports coordinated motion control for conveyors, hoists, and positioning units. Its single-slot format allows the card to connect to the base drive without requiring a separate communication enclosure.
For network integration, the card provides an RS-485 port that follows the InterBus protocol. The external line uses a 2-wire InterBus Remote Bus topology, allowing twisted-pair wiring to cover long machine segments. Cyclic control data uses a telegram length of one word, while the drive can return as many as three process words during each cycle. The incoming bus cable terminates on a 9-pin Sub-Min male connector compliant with DIN 41652-1 and is forwarded to the next station through a downstream 9-pin Sub-Min female socket that follows the same connector standard. The electronics have a maximum current draw of 100 mA from the auxiliary supply, limiting the load placed on cabinet power sources. Half-duplex signaling is routed internally to the inverter interface so communication timing remains synchronized between the card and the drive.
Operating power is supplied at 24 V DC, and the logic is galvanically separated from the serial trunk to help prevent ground loops between distributed enclosures. The isolation barrier is rated for 500 V DC, providing electrical separation between the communication network and internal control circuits. An embedded SUPI III protocol chip manages telegram timing, address decoding, and error detection without requiring host intervention. The Ib/Id code 227 supports automatic device matching when the card is recognized by the connected control system.
