Product Description:
The 18.F3.156-3389 is produced by KEB and belongs to the F3 Combivert Static Frequency Inverters series. In automation systems, this unit converts a fixed-frequency AC supply into a regulated output for variable-speed motor control. It can operate induction or synchronous motors used with conveyors, pumps, and material-handling equipment on the plant floor.
The drive delivers a maximum output frequency of 400 Hz, allowing high-speed motor operation beyond the standard mains frequency. Closed-loop regulation is precise because the digitally generated frequency maintains an accuracy of 0.01%, while analog reference channels remain within 0.1% for proportional setpoints from external sources. Logic terminals accept a control level of 24 VDC at 8 mA, matching common PLC I/O cards. The fault relay can switch up to 250 VAC or 30 VDC at 1 A to signal downstream circuits. Additional inputs include a 20 kΩ voltage channel, a 20 kΩ auxiliary channel, and a 250 Ω current channel, allowing the inverter to process 0–10 V, 0–20 mA, or 4–20 mA commands. A 15 VDC, 20 mA setpoint supply is provided for external potentiometers, while an optically isolated output rated at 48 VDC, 50 mA can operate counters or indicator devices.
The unit can be mounted at elevations up to 3000 m. Above this elevation, its continuous current is reduced by 1% per 100 m to limit thermal stress. The open construction has an IP00 protection rating, so the unit must be installed in a filtered control cabinet. Installation requires at least 50 mm of clearance on each side and 100 mm of clearance above and below to support convection cooling. The optocoupler transistor provides electrical isolation that helps prevent ground loops caused by different reference potentials in connected control circuits.
