Product Description:
The 15.F1.R30-3489 is an AC frequency converter manufactured by KEB for the F1 Combivert Frequency Converters series. It accepts a symmetrical three-phase supply, processes it through an internal IGBT bridge, and delivers a variable output that allows industrial controllers to regulate motor speed, torque, and direction. This function makes the unit suitable for automated conveyors, pumps, and process lines where precise electrical control replaces mechanical throttling.
The converter belongs to the 400 V voltage class and is rated for 17.0 kVA, giving it enough apparent power to feed medium-sized production motors. A continuous output of 24.0 A aligns with the operating currents of typical 11 kW machines, while a switching frequency of 16 kHz minimizes audible noise and improves motor current quality. Its maximum motor rating is 11.0 kW, making the converter suitable for loads within that power range. At the selected carrier frequency, the inverter dissipates 850 W of power, which must be considered when sizing cabinet ventilation. The device contains an internal RFI filter that lowers conducted emissions on the plant power supply. It operates from a three-phase connection, with the line-to-earth voltage limited to 300 V. A built-in control algorithm activates the cooling fans when the heat sink temperature reaches 55 °C and switches them off after the temperature falls to 50 °C, reducing fan operation while passive convection provides sufficient cooling.
Further protection is provided by an IP20 housing that prevents accidental finger contact while remaining suitable for installation in closed electrical panels. A built-in braking transistor channels excess regenerative energy to an external resistor during rapid deceleration, helping prevent overvoltage trips. The recommended mains fuse is 35 A, providing upstream protection for the converter and its supply conductors. Motor leads with cross-sectional areas up to 6 mm² can be connected to the spring-clamp terminals. Installation conditions permit a maximum relative humidity of 90%, provided condensation does not form on live components.
