The 15.F1.R10-3449 is a frequency converter produced by KEB and assigned to the F1 Combivert Frequency Converters series. In automated production lines, the unit modulates the supply frequency so that induction and synchronous motors can run at variable speeds, allowing process-specific torque and energy control. It is intended for applications that need controlled acceleration, steady speed regulation, and adjustable motor output without relying on fixed-speed operation.
This converter is wired to a 3-phase mains supply in the 400 V voltage class and provides a symmetrical three-phase output to the motor terminals over a range from 0 to the mains voltage. Under continuous load, it delivers a rated current of 24.0 A, which corresponds to a continuous apparent power of 17.0 kVA. Pulse-width modulation is generated with a carrier set to 8 kHz, and the basic switch frequency is fixed at the same value. The control board sources an 8 V monitoring signal for external logic such as temperature sensors. Power leads require a minimum cross-section of 6 mm² to limit resistive losses and keep conductor heating within acceptable limits. A motor thermistor must fall to 460 Ω before automatic reset can occur after an overtemperature event.
The protection rating of IP20 limits this model to closed electrical enclosures where finger-safe ingress protection is acceptable. Motors up to 11.0 kW can be started, accelerated, and braked as long as peak thermal limits are not exceeded, and a mains fuse no larger than 35 A protects the supply conductors. For applications that require lower acoustic noise or reduced motor heating, the converter allows the carrier frequency to increase to 16 kHz. The drive trips when the motor thermistor rises to 1500 Ω, shutting the unit down before winding insulation is damaged.
