Internal Product Review

The 05.F0.010-0019 is a KEB rack-mount serial interface module for F0 Combivert control cabinets, built for RS232/RS485 communication. DIN 66019 protocol support and 7-bit ASCII coding give the module dependable compatibility for established drive-control networks. RxD/TxD status indicators and 150 Ω terminal resistance make the unit especially well suited for stable serial commissioning.

Product Description:

The 05.F0.010-0019 interface module is produced by KEB as part of the F0 Combivert Control Cabinets series. This rack-mounted board serves as the communications link between a Combivert drive and external supervisory equipment, allowing parameter upload, diagnostic retrieval, and runtime monitoring in automated production lines. By presenting serial access points inside the cabinet, the module reduces repeated connector cycles on the drive itself and simplifies integration with host PCs or PLC gateways.

It supports the RS232/RS485 interface. In RS232 mode, communication complies with the EIA-RS232 standard and uses drive pins 2, 3, and 7, while the PC side terminates on pins 2, 3, and 5. When the differential bus mode is selected, the link meets EIA-RS485 electrical limits for multi-node networks. Frames are structured according to the DIN 66019 protocol, and every character is encoded in 7-bit ASCII, which allows straightforward parsing by generic terminal software. The inverter is cabled through a 9-pole Sub-D plug, and the host computer attaches to a 9-pole Sub-D socket beside it on the front panel. Because the circuitry is non-isolated, the cabinet grounding scheme must maintain a common reference to prevent signal offset.

For cabinet wiring, a shielded 2 x 2 x 0.22 mm² bus cable is used to control electromagnetic interference across long cable runs. Differential bus signaling may be configured for half or full duplex, and a board-selectable 150 Ω terminator is available when the module is installed at the end of the trunk. Two LED status indicators labeled RxD and TxD confirm frame activity without opening software tools. A protective earth conductor of at least 10 mm² cross-section must be bonded to the rack, and the sliding rack mount allows front access for card replacement.
