The 00.F0.021-0009 serial communication module is produced by KEB for the F0 Combivert Control Cabinets series. Installed on the chassis rail, it forms the physical layer between cabinet-mounted inverters and supervisory equipment. By providing selectable RS-232 or RS-485 links, the module enables parameter downloads, status polling, and alarm reporting so that drives integrate smoothly into distributed control architectures across assembly lines, conveyors, or process equipment. Its non-isolated design minimizes component count while the board shares a common reference with the host drive electronics.
The card derives logic power from an auxiliary rail that supplies +5 VDC. At full activity, it draws no more than 50 mA, keeping heat dissipation low and permitting operation from the inverter’s internal supply. User access is through a front-mounted CN3 (X3) 9-pin socket that follows the EIA pinout for both point-to-point and multidrop wiring. Message framing complies with DIN 66019 (ANSI X3.28, ISO 1745), so standard PLC master interfaces recognize the telegram structure without special drivers. A selectable termination network of 150 Ohm matches line impedance at the final node to help prevent reflections. A local equipotential connection of at least 10 mm² copper ties the shield and board ground to the cabinet earth bar, reducing common-mode currents. LED status indicators marked TxD and RxD show data flow clearly during operation.
