Product Description:
The 26.DR.B28-1141 motor input choke is produced by KEB within the DR Motor Input Chokes series. This three-phase reactor is wired on the line side of an AC drive, where it forms an L-filter with the supply impedance. It smooths current, suppresses transients, and reduces the total harmonic distortion fed back into the plant power network. By moderating electrical disturbances, the choke helps protect connected equipment and supports the reliable operation of sensitive automation devices on the same bus.
The choke has an inductance of 0.11 mH, which provides the reactance needed to reduce current ripple at the line frequency. It carries a nominal load of 270 A, allowing it to serve large drives without magnetic saturation under normal operating conditions. The coil has a nominal system voltage of 400 V, matching a common industrial power supply. During rated operation, the voltage drop equals 4% of the applied line voltage. This short-circuit impedance limits inrush current and keeps fault currents within predictable levels. Combined core and copper losses are 290 W, and the resulting heat must be considered when providing enclosure ventilation.
The copper bus bars accept cables with conductor cross sections up to 240 mm², providing capacity for the choke’s rated current. A threaded protective earth connection is provided by an M8 stud. The choke is 352 mm wide, 230 mm deep, and 395 mm high, allowing it to fit in deep floor-mounted cabinets while retaining suitable clearance for airflow. Its laminated steel core and wound conductors give it a mass of 37 kg, and integrated lifting points assist with handling during installation. Mounting uses 7 × 12 mm slotted holes arranged on centers measuring 249 × 82 mm, allowing the unit to be fastened directly to a backplate without additional brackets.
