The 21.DR.B18-2841 input choke is manufactured by KEB as part of the DR Motor Input Chokes series. Installed between the mains supply and an inverter, this three-phase reactor attenuates line disturbances, lowers harmonic currents, and limits voltage peaks that reach the drive input. By smoothing the current waveform, it helps protect medium-power motor drives and supports network power quality in automated machinery. Designed for cabinet mounting, the unit supplements KEB drives where additional electromagnetic compatibility is required.
The choke is compatible with a drive power of 45 kW, making it suitable for medium-size inverter applications in conveyor lines and process pumps. Its rated current is 115 A, and conductors with a 35 mm² cross-section can be connected without thermal derating. The windings are insulated for a 400 V network, matching standard low-voltage industrial power systems. With an inductance of 0.25 mH, the reactor provides enough impedance to damp switching edges while maintaining a low voltage drop during steady operation. The choke connects to a three-phase supply, allowing it to treat all three line conductors symmetrically.
The magnetic stack operates at mains frequencies from 45 to 65 Hz, so the component remains effective on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power systems. Under nominal load, the copper windings and core dissipate 181 W, and the resulting heat is removed by natural convection through the 267 × 210 × 275 mm frame. The calibrated impedance produces a short-circuit voltage of 4%, providing distortion control without causing an excessive input voltage drop. Two base plates have 7 × 12 mm mounting slots that align with standard cabinet rails and provide secure installation.
