The 19.DR.B18-3941 is a mains input choke produced by KEB and supplied within the DR Motor Input Chokes series. This component is installed on the line side of an inverter to reduce harmonic distortion and limit inrush currents in three-phase industrial power networks. By inserting inductance in front of the drive, the choke lowers the peak loading experienced by upstream breakers and helps protect sensitive automation equipment connected to the same bus.
The unit has an inductance of 0.39 mH, which shapes current rise times and filters higher-frequency components generated by pulse-width-modulated drives. When operated at its rated line current of 75 A, the choke supports a 400 V class supply. Internal copper windings and laminated steel generate 110 W of thermal dissipation under continuous load, and cabinet airflow must remove this heat to prevent overheating. The series impedance causes a controlled voltage attenuation of 4 % at nominal current, balancing harmonic suppression against acceptable motor terminal voltage. Designed for three input phases, the choke maintains equal impedance on each conductor to preserve phase symmetry and avoid differential loading of the drive rectifier.
The choke supports drives rated up to 30 kW. Power conductors with a cross-sectional area of 35 mm² fit directly into the terminal block, and mounting hardware passes through slots measuring 7 × 12 mm to secure the core against vibration. The laminated stack stands 235 mm tall, spans 219 mm in width, and extends 160 mm in depth, allowing placement in standard 300 mm-deep enclosures alongside braking resistors and contactors.
