The 18.DR.B18-4941 input choke is manufactured by KEB for the DR Motor Input Chokes series. As a line reactor placed between the mains supply and an inverter, it limits current peaks and dampens voltage transients, reducing harmonic distortion and protecting drive components in automated machinery. By increasing impedance at the converter input, the choke also attenuates commutation notches and improves the power factor of connected drives. This filtering action reduces electrical stress on the inverter’s rectifier and DC bus components during normal operation.
The choke operates on a three-phase network rated at 400 V and can carry a continuous line current of 60 A without saturation. Its core windings provide an inductance of 0.48 mH, which moderates the rate of current change seen by the inverter’s input capacitors. A compatible grid frequency range of 45 to 65 Hz supports operation with common industrial power supplies. Each phase conductor experiences equal impedance, helping maintain phase balance during operation. The enclosure measures 219 × 110 × 200 mm, providing a compact footprint for cabinet mounting.
