Product Description:
The 10.DR.B08-3751 is a three-phase input choke produced by KEB for the DR Motor Input Chokes series. Installed between the mains supply and an inverter, the inductor limits line-side harmonics and protects drive components from steep current transients. By adding series impedance, it helps maintain the sinusoidal shape of the supply current, reduces electromagnetic interference, and prevents nuisance trips in industrial automation systems that rely on stable power quality.
Rated for a continuous current of 8 A, this choke is designed for motor drives drawing up to that RMS line current. The winding withstands a nominal line voltage of 400 VAC, so it interfaces directly with common three-phase power distribution systems. Its core and coil set provide an inductance of 3.66 mH, which helps filter high-frequency components generated by inverter switching edges. When carrying its rated current, the device introduces a voltage drop of 4 %, which must be considered when sizing the upstream power supply. Thermal dissipation under full load reaches 33 W, so the enclosure must provide enough ventilation to keep the winding temperature within permissible limits. The component operates across three symmetrical phases and contributes negligible phase shift at the fundamental frequency.
The choke has housing dimensions of 148 × 80 × 140 mm and weighs 2.5 kg, allowing it to fit inside compact control cabinets. Its terminals accept copper conductors with a cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm², matching the wiring capacity of many small drives and circuit breakers. For panel mounting, the laminated steel base has mounting centers measuring 136 × 63 mm. Slotted mounting holes measuring 4.8 × 8 mm accommodate M4 hardware and permit minor alignment adjustments during installation. The rigid base helps keep the choke secure while maintaining the clearance required for ventilation and cable routing. Suitable conductor bends can be maintained without placing excessive strain on the terminals.
