Product Description:
The 05.DR.B08-7351 is a mains input choke manufactured by KEB and supplied within the DR Motor Input Chokes series. The component is installed between the supply network and a drive to block high-frequency interference and limit inrush currents in three-phase motor systems. By adding distributed inductance to the line, the unit protects downstream inverters from voltage spikes and reduces harmonic distortion that can affect automation equipment.
The choke has an inductance of 7.33 mH, which determines the impedance it presents to rapid current changes and affects the voltage drop under dynamic loads. It supports a continuous load of 4 A, making it suitable for small to medium-power drives operating on typical factory mains. The choke operates within a line voltage class of 400 V, so its winding insulation and clearances are suitable for common European three-phase grids. The impedance produces a short-circuit voltage of 4%; this percentage indicates how much line voltage appears across the choke at rated current and reflects its ability to limit fault current. Copper conductors with a cross-sectional area of 2.5 mm² carry the current while keeping resistive losses and temperature rise within allowable limits.
Heat produced by hysteresis and copper resistance results in a power loss of 22 W, which must be considered when the device is installed in an enclosure near other electronics. Oblong mounting slots measuring 4.8 × 9 mm align with cabinet rails, while mounting centers of 56 × 47 mm match the hole pattern used on standard backplates. The assembly measures 96 × 72 × 115 mm, providing a compact footprint for densely populated control panels without requiring an unusual mounting arrangement. Three line conductors terminate on the choke because it is designed for three input phases, providing symmetrical filtering throughout the power path.
