Product Description:
The 03.DR.B08-1461 is a three-phase input choke produced by KEB for the DR Motor Input Chokes series. Installed between the mains supply and a variable-frequency drive, this passive component attenuates line disturbances and limits inrush currents, protecting the supply network and the connected inverter. By adding source impedance, it reduces harmonic distortion and keeps the drive’s DC link voltage within safe limits inside automation cabinets. Its compact design allows placement near contactors or circuit breakers without consuming extra panel depth.
Electrically, the choke is designed for a line voltage of 400 V across a 45–65 Hz supply band. A core inductance of 14.6 mH provides the impedance needed to smooth current transients while keeping magnetizing losses low. During continuous service, the three wound phases carry up to 2 A, and the laminated core dissipates only 19 W of thermal power at that load. The choke works on a balanced three-phase network, so each limb shares flux and helps prevent differential-mode noise. With a depth of 115 mm, the unit fits shallow enclosures, and its mounting centers of 56 × 38 mm align with DIN plate patterns. Slot dimensions of 4.8 × 9 mm accept M4 hardware for fastening.
Copper terminals accept a conductor cross-section of 2.5 mm², allowing standard motor cable sizes to be used without special lugs. The assembled choke weighs only 0.9 kg, so it can be fixed directly to sheet-metal panels without added support brackets. A height of 62 mm and a frontal width of 96 mm keep the component low profile, leaving clearance for airflow around adjacent drives. The layout also leaves terminal access open, which helps keep conductor routing orderly in compact panels. These proportions permit vertical stacking of multiple chokes when several inverters share the same supply rail, allowing harmonic mitigation to be expanded without increasing cabinet depth.
