Product Description:
The 60.C6.AF1-4502 is a bus coupler module manufactured by KEB for the C6 Combicontrol Bus Couplers series. It serves as an embedded gateway that allows PLCs and motion controllers on the machine side to exchange data with higher-level Ethernet or fieldbus networks. The module also functions as a visualization node that presents operator information on an integrated display.
A Freescale i.MX535 processor drives the unit at 1 GHz; this frequency supports the execution of logic tasks and the refreshing of display content. The processor’s ARM Cortex-A8 core integrates a floating-point unit, allowing the device to perform motion calculations without an external coprocessor. A 400 MHz memory bus links the CPU to 1 GB of DDR3-800 system RAM, giving the HMI fast access to variables and screen objects. Persistent storage is divided between 256 MB of NAND flash, which holds the operating system and runtime, and 4 GB of project memory, which retains user programs, trend logs, and recipe files through power cycles. These processing and memory resources support Windows Embedded Compact 7 Pro, .NET Compact Framework applications, and real-time task scheduling while remaining within the device’s thermal limits.
The front panel is made from aluminum and polycarbonate and is sealed to IP66, protecting the touchscreen against dust and high-pressure water spray on food-processing or packaging lines. Network connections include one 100 Mbps and one 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for separate control and service channels. Legacy equipment can connect through a multi-protocol RS-232/422/485 serial port. The operator side also provides two USB 2.0 ports for connecting a keyboard, mouse, or memory stick. A push-push SD/SDHC V2.0 slot supports removable backups, while the display renders detailed graphics with 16 million colors. An MPI interface operating at 187.5 kbit/s provides a direct connection to classic S7 CPU modules.
