Product Description:
The 12.C6.AF1-4405 is produced by KEB for the C6 Combicontrol Bus Couplers series. This unit integrates a panel display, an embedded controller, and fieldbus connectivity, letting machine builders merge visualization, data exchange, and local control inside one enclosure. It acts as a bridge between higher-level networks and distributed I/O, reducing wiring and cabinet complexity in automated equipment. Because the display, controller, and bus interface are housed together, the unit can support standalone operator interaction while still exchanging process data with remote modules.
A ARM Cortex-A8, 1 GHz processor supplies deterministic processing power while 1 GB DDR3-800 of volatile memory accommodates runtime variables and graphical elements. Persistent storage consists of 256 MB of NAND flash for the real-time operating system and 4 GB of eMMC for application projects. The 12.1-inch TFT panel renders graphics at 800 × 600 px, maintaining the 4:3 aspect ratio required by many existing SCADA screens. Operator readability is reinforced by panel luminance of 500 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 800:1. This arrangement lets the interface handle local screens and application logic at the same time without shifting basic control tasks to a separate panel computer. Network segregation is possible thanks to two Ethernet interfaces, one fixed at 100 Mbps and a second selectable between 10 and 100 Mbps, so motion buses can be isolated from enterprise traffic.
The aluminum front carries a protection rating of IP66, allowing installation in washdown or dust-laden zones when mounted correctly. Two host ports rated at 2 × USB 2.0 connect scanners or memory sticks, while a multiprotocol serial channel presented on a RS232/422/485 DB15 male connector supports legacy drives and panels. The active matrix uses a pixel pitch of 0.3075 × 0.3075 mm, and its illuminated area measures 246.0 × 184.5 mm to match the native resolution without interpolation artifacts. These hardware features enable local trending, recipe storage, and direct data handling through the device without an external PC. The front-mounted interfaces also make routine data transfer and peripheral attachment straightforward when the device is installed directly on a machine door or operator station.
