The 05.C6.AF1-4505 is produced by KEB as part of the C6 Combicontrol Bus Couplers series. It merges a fanless ARM controller with a touch display, allowing the module to couple fieldbus signals to Ethernet while also acting as a small HMI node inside industrial automation systems. By executing a Windows Embedded runtime, it can host driver tasks, visualize process values, and pass data between PLCs, drives, and remote I/O through its integrated communication ports.
Processing is handled by a ARM Cortex-A8 i.MX535, 1 GHz CPU that executes the Windows Embedded Compact 7 Pro operating system. The controller keeps application variables in 1 GB DDR3-800 of system memory and stores runtime files in 256 MB NAND flash. Recipe data and larger visualization projects reside on a dedicated 4 GB eMMC device, and further expansion is possible through an SD/SDHC V2.0 card slot. Two RJ45 Ethernet ports support segregated machine and plant networks, while a serial port that can operate as RS232, RS422, RS485, or MPI at 187.5 kbit/s connects legacy hardware. Two USB 2.0 receptacles enable keyboard, service dongle, or data-logging peripherals.
For local interaction, the resistive 4-wire touchscreen overlays a 5.7 in TFT display that renders graphics at 640 x 480 pixels in the classic 4:3 format and shows 256 K colors. Backlighting delivers 500 cd/m² of brightness so the screen remains readable in brightly lit enclosures. The front panel carries a IP66 rating, blocking dust and high-pressure water jets when the unit is panel-mounted. Network wiring enters through the dual 2 x RJ45 connectors, and additional fieldbus or maintenance lines can be terminated on the serial and USB ports without breaching the seal. These features allow the coupler to perform visualization, data exchange, and basic control tasks in confined cabinet spaces.
