Product Description:
The 00.C6.FD1-K400 is a DIN-rail bus coupler produced by KEB and positioned within the C6 Combicontrol Bus Couplers series. The unit acts as a field-level bridge that links decentralized I/O, motion components, and supervisory networks, allowing coordinated data exchange and remote diagnostics inside automated machinery. It is intended for cabinet-mounted automation systems that need dependable communication between local devices and higher-level control platforms without requiring a separate industrial PC for basic gateway tasks.
Internally the coupler operates from a wide input range of 9–36 V DC, making it suitable for both 12 V and 24 V control cabinets. Its computing core is a ARM Cortex A8 i.MX535 1 GHz processor that handles protocol conversion, data buffering, and edge analytics. The processor accesses 1 GB RAM for volatile tasks and a non-volatile 4 GB eMMC drive for firmware and application storage; an additional 256 MB of NAND flash provides redundancy for boot images. Hard-wired communication is handled through an isolated serial interface that supports RS232/422/485 as well as MPI at 187.5 kbit/s, enabling integration with legacy PLCs. The onboard Cloud runtime works with the HMI visualization layer to deliver browser-based dashboards, and the CONNECT service activates encrypted remote maintenance sessions.
Wireless connectivity is provided by a 4G-AM pentaband modem that can also fall back to 2G or 3G when LTE coverage is unavailable. It supports the LTE spectrum set B2/B4/B5/B17 along with UMTS bands B2 and B5, enabling operation on common North American networks. A front-panel slot accommodates 1 x Mini SIM, while an external 1 x SMA plug antenna can be positioned for optimal signal strength. For wired backhaul, a 1 x 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port links the coupler to plant switches or routers. The electronics remain functional within an ambient range of 0 to 50 °C, matching typical enclosure climates, and deterministic performance is maintained whether traffic is routed through the WAN socket or the cellular interface.
