Product Description:
KEB manufactures the 00.C6.CC1-0700 coupler as part of the C6 Combicontrol Bus Couplers series. This module functions as an EtherCAT bus interface that accepts analog sensor signals and forwards digitized data to the control network. Within an automation line, it bridges temperature or resistance probes to higher-level controllers, eliminating discrete A/D cards in the PLC rack. The integrated ET1200 ASIC maintains deterministic timing between distributed nodes so that process and motion tasks stay synchronized.
The coupler offers 4 differential input channels that accept Pt100 or Ni100 sensors. Incoming signals are converted with 16-bit resolution, providing fine granularity for temperature evaluation. Communication to the EtherCAT ring runs at 100 Mbit/s, and synchronization is handled by the ET1200 controller core to keep jitter low between distributed clocks. Power is taken from a 24 V DC nominal supply. At this voltage, the internal E-Bus circuitry draws up to 150 mA, which should be included when calculating backplane loading. The shield is clamped with an M3×5 bolt to maintain EMC during high-speed cycles.
Measurement cadence is fixed at 7.75 Hz, yielding a fresh data set every 129 ms for the control loop. For fine linearization, the converter publishes resistance steps of 0.01 Ω or corresponding temperature steps of 0.1 °C, allowing the PLC to correct drift without floating-point scaling. The E-Bus side uses a 10-pin plug, while field wiring arrives on an 18-pole spring terminal that must be ordered separately because the I/O connector is not included. An additional end module is not required, so several couplers can be placed in series without a termination accessory. With adequate ventilation, the assembly can operate in cabinets up to 55 °C while staying within the stated load-current limit.
