The 00.C6.BD1-BCB0 bus coupler is produced by KEB for the C6 Combicontrol Bus Couplers series. As a modular gateway, it links discrete sensors and actuators with higher-level fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet networks so that a controller can exchange process data in real time. By combining configurable I/O channels with dedicated communication ports, this coupler simplifies panel layouts and extends the C6 control platform into machine-mounted terminal blocks.
This unit provides 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs, allowing it to capture sensor states and drive actuators directly from the rail. Each input is scanned within 100 µs, letting the processor react to edge changes during fast machine cycles. Application code and firmware are stored in 256 MB flash, while the resident operating system runs on a SH7269 32-bit RISC with FPU, providing enough arithmetic performance for motion interpolation. Installation is straightforward because the housing snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail, so wiring can follow standard control cabinet practice without additional brackets.
The runtime environment is supported by 32 MB RAM for variables and buffers, and 32 KB of retain memory keeps critical values through a power cycle.
