Danfoss is a Denmark-based company that deals with the production of top-tier factory and everyday technological items. Currently, the company produces more than 25 items among them Ac drives, software, valves, electronic controls, and many more. The VLT2855 is part of the VLT drives that Danfoss produces for factory applications. Like most VLT drives, it comes in a portable and lightweight design which makes it a favorite of most experts. It is also easily customized to meet the needs of your applications.
The VLT2855 drive can be started via local start command, bus command, references, or digital commands. A natural convectional cooling mode is used to cool parts of the drive. A distance of at least 4 inches should be left above and below it. This is to ensure optimal air circulation around the drive. If the temperature exceeds 45 degrees, derating is required to mitigate the system shut down. Constant derating significantly improves the lifespan of the VLT2855. It can be mounted in an enclosure either vertically or horizontally, which bolsters its flexibility in application. If an enclosure is not provided, make a point to protect it with a NEMA 1 enclosure.
This Danfoss drive can be installed with other drives side-by-side since it does not require side cooling. Its control unit features a display and a keypad. The keypad is used for programming multiple drives while the display contains LED display, keys and indicator lamps. There are three indicator lamps, namely Warning, Alarm, and On. The keys are primarily used for local operation and changing parameters and shifting display functions. Use shielded cables to minimize radiated and conducted frequency emission. Using unshielded cables violates EMC standards.
