Product Description:
The FC-102P5K5T4P55H1 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. The unit regulates the speed of centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors in building automation systems, allowing airflow, water flow, and pressure to track real-time demand instead of requiring motors to run continuously at line frequency. HVAC-oriented control algorithms support operation in air-handling units, chillers, and energy-recovery systems. Onboard network interfaces allow the drive to exchange operating commands and status information with compatible building control systems.
The drive provides a continuous output of 5.5 kW for compatible HVAC motors. Its input section accepts 380–480 VAC utility power and passes it through a three-level inverter to supply adjustable voltage and frequency to the motor. The unit operates with three-phase power, allowing direct connection to standard industrial mains without an autotransformer. Its IP55 / Type 12 enclosure protects internal components against dust and low-pressure water jets that may be present in mechanical rooms. Thermal dissipation relies on rear heat-sink fins, which transfer heat away from the power electronics while helping the electronic compartment remain sealed. This arrangement supports indoor installation in typical HVAC plant rooms when the required clearances and ambient operating limits are maintained.
The mounting arrangement uses a Frame A5 outline with a backplate intended for an open drive back. This configuration provides a compact installation footprint while preserving the airflow paths required around neighboring panel equipment. Conducted emissions are reduced by the built-in RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which helps limit electrical interference on sensitive building networks. The control menu uses the internal series designation 102, allowing the appropriate parameter structure to be applied to fan, pump, compressor, duct-pressure, and chilled-water control functions. The drive can adjust motor operation in response to changing process demand, reducing unnecessary full-speed operation in systems with variable airflow or fluid requirements.
