Product Description:
The FC-102P5K5T4 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Within an air-handling system or pump station, it regulates induction motor speed so airflow or pressure can follow building automation commands, reducing the energy consumed by fans, pumps, and compressors. The drive connects directly to three-phase mains and provides scalable motor control for industrial and commercial HVAC installations. Its variable-speed operation also helps reduce mechanical stress caused by abrupt motor starts and stops.
The inverter delivers a continuous shaft output of 5.5 kW, equivalent to 7.5 HP, which is the maximum continuous mechanical power available under rated conditions. It accepts line voltages from 380–480 VAC and draws 13 A at 380 V and 11 A at 460 V, allowing one unit to operate on common low-voltage distribution networks. Motor frequency can be modulated up to 590 Hz, so high-speed scroll compressors or specialized fan wheels can operate without mechanical gear changes. The internal control loop updates every 5 ms, allowing torque commands to respond quickly to changing process demands. Adjustable acceleration and deceleration profiles help limit current surges and reduce sudden pressure changes in connected duct or piping systems.
The drive provides six programmable digital inputs that allow a building controller to select operating modes, process commands, or safety interlocks. Each input tolerates up to 28 V DC, making it compatible with typical transistor outputs used in automation systems. Two analog inputs measure flow or temperature with an accuracy of 0.5% FS and a 10-bit resolution, while one analog output retransmits process feedback to external equipment. Two relay outputs can switch external contactors, and two digital or pulse outputs can send speed references to follower drives. The drive also supplies 15 mA at 10 V for potentiometers and 200 mA at 24 V for active sensors, reducing the need for additional panel-mounted power supplies.
