Product Description:
The FC-102P4K0T4P55H variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. This unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into adjustable-frequency output for induction motors used in air-handling units, chillers, and pump stations. Building management systems can therefore regulate motor speed to match changing flow and pressure requirements in industrial and commercial installations.
It operates from a three-phase supply of 380–480 VAC, accommodating 400 V or 460 V feeders with a permitted phase imbalance of 3.0%. Under 380–440 V service, the drive draws 9.0 A of input current and supplies a continuous motor current of 10 A. At 441–480 V, the input current decreases to 7.4 A, while the continuous motor current decreases to 8.2 A. Apparent power demand is 6.9 kVA on 400 V lines and 6.5 kVA on 460 V lines. An efficiency of 0.97 keeps conduction losses low and limits heat while the inverter delivers its rated output. The control section can produce an output frequency of up to 590 Hz, enabling operation with high-speed fan impellers. For transient overloads, the current channel sustains 110% for 60 seconds without tripping. Only two power-ups per minute are permitted to protect the DC link from inrush stress.
Heat produced during full-load conversion is 124 W, so modest control-cabinet airflow is adequate. The electronics use an IP55/Type 12 backplate, which helps shield them from dust and low-pressure water jets when the specified backplate mounting style is used with A5, B, or C frames. Pre-drilled slots on the cast-aluminum chassis simplify mounting and help position the drive securely inside the cabinet. The standard motor rating of 4.0 kW supports mid-sized air-moving equipment, including fans and pumps. The three-phase input design accommodates moderate supply variations within the permitted phase-imbalance limit. The adjustable output also allows connected motors to reduce speed during periods of lower airflow or pressure demand.
