Product Description:
The FC-102P45KT6 is an AC drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It is intended for industrial ventilation and pumping systems where electronic speed control of three-phase induction motors improves energy use and stabilizes airflow or water flow. By modulating output frequency instead of relying on mechanical throttling, the unit lets building automation controllers set motor speed in direct response to process demand.
This model supplies up to 45 kW of electrical power, equivalent to 60 HP, to the motor terminals. It connects to a mains supply in the 525–600 VAC range and can generate an output between 0–590 Hz for broad speed regulation. Continuous output current is limited to 62 A, allowing full-load operation without thermal derating when ambient conditions remain within the stated limits. A three-phase input with a ±10% voltage tolerance protects the converter from moderate line fluctuations, while permitted phase imbalance is held to 3% to prevent DC-link stress. The drive accepts supply frequencies from 47.5 to 63 Hz, so it covers both 50 Hz and 60 Hz utility grids. Internally, a C3 frame size organizes the power modules and control cards, and the 35 kg enclosure simplifies panel handling.
The displacement power factor reaches >0.98, so line-side reactive current remains low and reduces the load on upstream transformers. Conversion efficiency is rated at ≥97%, and residual thermal energy leaves the chassis as only 900 W, easing cabinet ventilation requirements. For short bursts such as startup or sudden load increases, the one-minute overload capability rises to 68 A. Continuous input demand is 59.0 A, providing the current needed by the converter during sustained operation. The true power factor stays at or above 0.9 even when the drive operates away from its nominal load.
