In building automation systems, it regulates fan and pump motors so airflow, pressure, or water volume follows real-time demand rather than remaining at a fixed level. Variable-speed operation can reduce energy use and mechanical wear on connected HVAC equipment while maintaining the required process output.
This drive delivers a continuous output of 45 kW, equivalent to 60 HP, giving it sufficient capacity to operate mid-sized HVAC equipment without external gear reduction. It accepts a supply of 380–480 VAC with three-phase power, allowing direct connection to common industrial mains. Standard mounting brackets for A, B, or C frames simplify installation in an electrical cabinet. The chassis has an IP20 enclosure rating, which protects internal components against contact with fingers and solid objects larger than 12 mm. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so rapid deceleration requires external braking equipment or must rely on the motor and load to dissipate the returned energy. Field wiring passes through standard cable entries, providing conventional access for power, motor, and control conductors. Setup is performed through the graphical local control panel, which displays parameters in a language selected from the standard language pack. The drive does not include an A option card, and no adaptation B option is installed, leaving the associated expansion positions available for compatible network or input/output modules. No mains option is installed, so any required upstream circuit functions must be incorporated into the facility power system.
