Product Description:
The FC-102P3K0T4 is a variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It modulates three-phase induction motors used in air-handling units, pumps, and chillers. The drive supplies adjustable voltage and frequency so building automation systems can match fan or pump speed to real-time load demands. Its internal control algorithms regulate motor operation as demand changes, helping maintain the required airflow, water pressure, or cooling capacity without running connected equipment continuously at full speed.
The electrical input accepts line supplies from 380–480 VAC, allowing the model to operate with common international low-voltage power systems. During continuous duty, it converts the incoming power into a motor output of 3.0 kW, which is equivalent to 4.0 HP at 460 V. The drive has an efficiency of 0.97, so approximately 3% of the incoming power is dissipated as heat. With an input frequency of 50/60 Hz, the drive draws 6.5 A on 380–440 V service and 5.7 A on 441–480 V service. The motor terminals deliver 7.2 A in the lower voltage band and 6.3 A in the higher voltage band. A short-term overload capacity of 110% for 1 minute allows the controller to accommodate brief increases in mechanical load without unnecessary trips. Continuous apparent power is rated at 5.0 kVA, which supports the selection of suitable upstream breakers and contactors.
For transient operation, intermittent motor current reaches 7.9 A at 380–440 V and 6.9 A at 441–480 V. The corresponding intermittent input currents are 7.2 A and 6.3 A, respectively, allowing additional current during short acceleration periods or temporary load changes. The converter’s thermal design limits internal power dissipation to 116 W, helping control enclosure temperature during prolonged airflow or pumping cycles. These operating values allow the drive to support medium-frame HVAC motors while maintaining stable output under both continuous and intermittent loading conditions.
