Product Description:
The FC-102P37KT6 drive is manufactured by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. The unit is part of the VLT HVAC Drive product group and carries the 102 series identifier. It is intended to control centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors in building automation systems. By adjusting motor speed instead of relying on dampers or throttling valves, the drive helps regulate flow or pressure while reducing electrical demand and mechanical stress on connected HVAC equipment. This operating approach also supports smoother system response during changing load conditions in large air-handling or water-circulation applications.
Electrically, the drive accepts a three-phase input of 3 x 525-600 V AC and draws a continuous input current of 49.0 A when supplying its rated load. The power section is sized for a motor rated at 37 kW and can deliver an output current of 52 A at the terminals. The output frequency range extends from zero to 590 Hz, allowing the converter to operate both standard and high-speed motor applications. When the unit runs at full capacity, it dissipates 740 W of heat, so enclosure ventilation or panel airflow must remove that thermal load. Commanded torque can rise from zero to the setpoint in 10 ms, which helps the drive respond quickly to changing pressure or airflow demands without sluggish behavior.
The drive has a motor rating of 50 hp and can supply an intermittent current of 57 A during short acceleration periods. Its starting torque reaches 110% for 60 s, which helps heavier air-handling loads overcome static friction during startup. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C and at altitudes up to 1000 m without derating. Field wiring can use as much as 150 m of shielded motor cable or 300 m of unshielded motor cable, giving flexibility when the drive cabinet must be installed away from the motor. This layout can be useful in larger mechanical rooms or plant areas where equipment spacing is fixed by the building design.
