Product Description:
The FC-102P1K5T4E21XG is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. In building automation systems, it regulates the speed of three-phase induction motors that operate fans, pumps, and air-handling equipment. Adjusting motor speed allows airflow or fluid volume to follow real-time demand, which can reduce unnecessary energy consumption during periods of low demand. The drive can receive control signals from building management equipment and vary motor output without relying on mechanical throttling alone.
The inverter provides two analog command channels and two digital status outputs, giving it direct connections for common HVAC sensors, control signals, and contactors. When connected to a 380–480 VAC power supply, it draws a continuous input current of 3.1 A and delivers a continuous output current of 3.4 A. Its rated apparent power is 2.7 kVA, while its short-duty current capability reaches 3.7 A for fan startup, pump acceleration, or valve breakaway torque. The drive has an overall conversion efficiency of 0.97, which limits internal heat generation during normal operation. Its IP21 / Type 1 enclosure protects against contact with internal components and vertically falling water droplets when the unit is installed correctly. The three-phase input stage permits connection to common industrial and commercial power distribution systems without requiring an autotransformer.
Thermal losses are limited to 62 W, allowing the A2 enclosure to operate in a dry control room without supplementary cooling when installation clearances and ambient limits are observed. The drive supports motors rated up to 2.0 hp, corresponding to a metric output rating of 1.5 kW. Motor conductors with cross-sectional areas up to 4 mm², equivalent to 12 AWG, can be connected to the unit. The intermittent current capacity provides additional output for brief load transients without changing the continuous current rating. Predictable heat dissipation also helps maintain suitable airflow around the heat sink and adjacent panel components. The enclosure is intended for indoor panel installation where it remains protected from excessive moisture, conductive dust, and direct exposure to weather.
