Product Description:
The FC-102P1K5T4 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Within air-handling units, chillers, and pump skids, it regulates induction motor speed so airflow or water volume matches building demand, reducing energy use in industrial automation and commercial climate systems. Two analog inputs, six digital inputs, and dual relay contacts allow a building management controller to select setpoints, enable the drive, and report operating status.
This model connects to three-phase mains rated at 380–480 VAC and delivers a continuous shaft output of 2 HP. At 380 V, the inverter supplies 4.1 A, while its vector algorithm can raise motor torque to 110% for short overload peaks without tripping. Speed is controlled through an output frequency range of 0–590 Hz, and the terminal block provides an output voltage from 0% to 100% of the incoming line voltage. The drive supports a grid frequency of 50 or 60 Hz and coordinates motor acceleration with selectable ramp times. It also maintains a current limit of 3.4 A when powered from a 460 V supply. These operating ranges allow the drive to control common three-phase induction motors used in fans, pumps, and other HVAC equipment.
Power quality is supported by a displacement power factor greater than 0.98, so upstream breakers and cables carry current with a low reactive component. Process feedback can be retransmitted through an isolated analog output with a range of 0/4–20 mA, simplifying loop integration with differential-pressure or flow transmitters. Adjustable start and stop profiles range from 1–3600 seconds, allowing control over duct resonance and pump water-hammer effects. The DC link and control boards tolerate line excursions of ±10% from the nominal voltage, helping the drive remain online during utility dips or generator swells. Nonvolatile parameter storage retains configured operating values after power is removed. The phase-balanced topology and FC 102 control system support steady motor operation as process demand changes.
