The FC-102P1K1 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. In building automation, the unit adjusts induction motor speed so that fans, pumps, and compressors can match real-time demand rather than operate at a constant frequency. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a modulated three-phase output, the drive helps reduce energy consumption and mechanical wear in air-handling and chilled-water systems. Its variable-speed operation also allows connected equipment to respond smoothly to changing flow, pressure, or temperature requirements.
The inverter is rated for a continuous shaft power of 1.1 kW, corresponding to a nominal motor current of 3 A at the output terminals. The drive has two analog inputs that accept 0–10 V or 0/4–20 mA signals, allowing simultaneous flow and temperature feedback. Six programmable logic channels accommodate start, stop, and operating mode commands, while their 28 V DC limit supports direct connection to typical building-management controllers. The six digital inputs operate with a five-millisecond scan interval to keep control latency low. One analog output, two pulse counters, and two form-C relays provide operating status and process information to external monitoring equipment.
The drive’s analog conversion error does not exceed 0.5% FS, supporting accurate proportional and PID control loops. Two transistor stages provide two digital outputs for run indication or fault signaling. The integrated mains converter can deliver 1.5 HP to compatible NEMA-frame motors. The unit tolerates supply voltage deviations of ±10% and frequency deviations of plus or minus five percent without derating. Its short-circuit current rating reaches 100 kA at 480/600 V, which supports coordination with properly selected upstream protective devices. The available analog, digital, pulse, and relay connections allow the drive to exchange commands and status data with common HVAC control systems.
