Product Description:
The FC-102P18KT4E55H2XNXXX is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as a member of the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Intended for ventilation, pumping, and condenser-fan duties, the drive converts fixed line power into a regulated output frequency so building automation systems can adjust motor speed in real time and maintain stable operating conditions. It functions as a dedicated HVAC controller that integrates directly into mechanical rooms and air-handling units to reduce energy consumption and operating noise. Variable-speed operation also allows connected equipment to respond to changing airflow, pressure, or temperature demands instead of running continuously at full speed.
Its continuous output capability is rated at 18.5 kW, which is equivalent to 25 HP and provides power for medium-sized supply or return fans. The input stage accepts line voltages from 380–480 VAC and uses three-phase power, allowing the unit to connect to common industrial distribution panels without transformers. The enclosure carries an IP55 / Type 12 rating that protects internal electronics from dust and dripping water, allowing wall mounting inside suitable mechanical spaces. An integrated RFI filter attenuates high-frequency switching noise to limit conducted emissions and support electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The protected enclosure also helps isolate the power electronics from routine contact while preserving access to the drive controls.
Cables are routed through standard cable entries, eliminating the need for special knockout kits during installation. Users interact with parameters through the detachable numerical local control panel, which provides a numeric display and keypad access for startup, system balancing, and fault review. The control boards have an uncoated PCB finish, so the enclosure seal must remain intact when the drive is installed where moisture or chemical vapors may be present. The selected Brake Safe Stop configuration does not include a brake chopper, so braking functions that require one must be supported by external equipment. The drive also lacks an internal line disconnect, requiring a suitable external disconnecting device for power isolation. These separate devices must be selected and installed according to the electrical requirements of the connected HVAC system.
