Product Description:
The FC-102P18KT4E20H3XG is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It modulates induction motor speed to match demand in air-handling units, pumps, and cooling towers. By converting fixed-frequency line power into a variable-frequency output, the unit permits precise control of airflow or water flow. This capability can reduce unnecessary motor operation while helping HVAC equipment maintain stable temperature, pressure, and ventilation conditions in large commercial installations.
Its electrical section is rated for 18.5 kW of continuous motor power, which corresponds to 25 HP. The input stage accepts line supplies from 380–480 VAC, allowing direct connection to common industrial power systems without a transformer. The drive uses three-phase power, providing balanced power delivery for compatible induction motors. The unit has IP20 chassis protection, which prevents accidental contact with hazardous internal parts while allowing cabinet airflow to remove heat. Adequate enclosure ventilation and installation clearance are required to maintain reliable cooling during continuous operation.
Electromagnetic compatibility is supported by an integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter that attenuates conducted emissions on the supply conductors. Users interact with the drive through a detachable graphical local control panel, which displays operating status and permits local parameter adjustments. The unit supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames without supplemental brackets, simplifying placement within a suitable enclosure. The drive has no brake chopper, so it cannot directly dissipate regenerated energy through a connected braking resistor. Applications that require rapid deceleration must use controlled ramping or separate braking equipment appropriate for the motor and driven load.
