Product Description:
The FC-102P18KT4E20H2XG is a variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It is supplied as a dedicated controller for ventilation fans, pumps, and compressors, allowing building automation systems to adjust motor speed according to heating or cooling demand. By varying the output frequency instead of throttling dampers or valves, the drive can reduce energy consumption and mechanical wear in commercial and industrial air-handling installations. Its control functions support applications that require reliable regulation of airflow, pressure, or fluid circulation throughout changing operating conditions.
Rated at 18.5 kW, the drive can continuously deliver the electrical power required by motors rated up to 25 HP, supporting medium-capacity air-treatment equipment. Its rectifier and inverter accept an input range of 380 – 480 VAC, and the power section uses three-phase power, so it connects directly to standard plant supplies without a transformer. The electronics are housed in an IP20 chassis enclosure, which provides protection against accidental finger contact while allowing installation inside a ventilated switchboard. The open chassis requires an appropriate cabinet to protect the electronics from excessive dust and moisture. These electrical limits assist with cable sizing, thermal spacing, and coordination with upstream protective devices.
The integrated RFI filter reduces conducted emissions toward the mains, helping the panel meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements without an external filtering stage. A front-mounted graphical local control panel provides parameter access, real-time readings, and local start and stop functions. This interface allows operating values and drive status to be viewed directly at the unit. The power stage has no brake chopper, making it suitable for applications in which the connected load can coast to a stop without an external braking resistor. The housing supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing it to use the corresponding mounting arrangement and airflow clearances in HVAC control cabinets. Adequate ventilation around the chassis helps remove heat generated during continuous motor operation.
