The FC-102P11KT6 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It controls motors used with fans, pumps, and compressors in commercial climate-control systems. By regulating motor speed in response to demand, the drive supports energy-efficient operation and precise airflow or water circulation within larger automation systems.
The drive is designed for operation on a 575 VAC three-phase supply and carries a power rating of 11 kW. Its continuous output line current reaches 18 A, while the rectifier draws 17.2 A from the mains during steady loads. Short-term process peaks are handled by intermittent ratings of 19 A input and 20 A output. Conversion efficiency is 0.97, so only 3% of the input energy is lost as heat. The displacement power factor remains above 0.98, minimizing reactive demand on the supply, while the true power factor is at least 0.9. These electrical characteristics support operation with HVAC fan walls, chilled-water pumps, supply blowers, and compressor systems that require responsive speed adjustment.
During motor startup, the drive sustains 110% of rated torque for 60 seconds, providing additional torque for controlled acceleration. It can also deliver a peak of 135% for 0.5 seconds to overcome high static loads. The control electronics accommodate a maximum mains imbalance of 3.0% to limit disruption from uneven phase voltages. Power cycling is restricted to one start per minute to protect the internal capacitors from excessive charging stress. Internal power dissipation is rated at 300 W, so the installation must provide adequate cabinet ventilation and sufficient clearance for heat removal. Proper airflow helps prevent elevated internal temperatures during sustained operation, especially when the drive is installed near other heat-producing control equipment.
