Product Description:
The FC-102P11KT2 is a variable frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Classified in the VLT HVAC Drive product group, this three-phase inverter converts fixed mains power into a regulated output that matches the torque and speed requirements of centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors used in air-handling and chilled-water circuits. By replacing mechanical throttling with electronic speed control, the unit supports tighter process regulation and reduced electrical consumption in industrial and commercial automation systems.
The drive supplies a continuous apparent power of 16.6 kVA, which corresponds to 11 kW of real motor power. It accepts a three-phase source at 200 to 240 VAC and draws 42 A, while supplying 46.2 A to the output terminals. With an internal efficiency of 0.96, only a small portion of the input energy is lost as heat. Standard duty permits an overload of 110% for 60 s before regulation limits are applied, while the intermittent current rating of 50.8 A supports brief acceleration periods. A torque rise time of 10 ms helps reduce mechanical shock when the motor responds to a command. The drive permits one power-up per minute, helping limit repeated mains inrush.
Motors rated up to 15 HP fall within the converter’s capability, and a peak torque of 135% for 0.5 s helps overcome starting inertia. Operation is permitted at elevations up to 1000 m and at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C without derating. The maximum motor cable length is 150 m with shielded cable or 300 m with unshielded cable, providing flexibility for equipment placement in large facilities. The short-circuit current rating is 65 kA when a disconnect is used and 100 kA without a disconnect. These current ratings support coordination with appropriate upstream protection equipment in three-phase HVAC installations.
