Product Description:
The FC-102P is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It regulates fan and pump motors in building automation systems. By converting three-phase mains power into variable-voltage and variable-frequency output, the drive enables precise control of airflow, water circulation, and pressure while reducing energy consumption. Common HVAC control configurations allow integration with sensors, dampers, and supervisory controllers through built-in analog, digital, and relay interfaces. These interfaces support direct connections to common field devices without requiring separate signal-conversion modules.
The control stage provides a reference supply of 10.5 V ±0.5 V for potentiometer feedback and a 24 V auxiliary rail rated at 200 mA for externally powered transducers. Two analog inputs measure process signals with 0.5% full-scale accuracy and use 10-bit resolution for signal conversion. One analog output sends setpoints to valves or meters with 12-bit resolution. A pair of digital outputs and two Form C relay contacts forward operating status to building management systems. The 24 V source maintains regulation within a range of 24 V +1/-3 V to provide stable power for connected sensors. This combination of input and output channels supports pressure, temperature, flow, and equipment-status signals used in HVAC applications.
On the power side, the drive achieves a displacement power factor of >0.98, reducing reactive current demand on the supply equipment. For mechanical loads that experience short demand spikes, the inverter can sustain an overload of 110% for 60 s before derating. Control terminals accept up to 28 V DC on the digital inputs, providing a suitable operating range for standard control signals. Each transistor digital output can deliver 40 mA to operate external indicators or compatible interface devices. The inverter is preset for 50/60 Hz utility grids, allowing operation with the common supply frequencies used in commercial and industrial facilities. Its transistor outputs operate alongside the relay contacts to provide separate signaling paths for run status, alarms, or other control functions.
