Product Description:
The FC-102 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. In building automation, the unit modulates three-phase motor speed so air-handling units, pumps, and chillers match real-time load demand, lowering energy use while keeping airflow and pressure within design limits. A scan interval of 1 ms supports the internal PLC function so control logic executes quickly.
The controller provides two analog input channels with 10-bit resolution for sensors such as temperature or differential pressure and one analog output with 12-bit resolution for feedback to supervisory systems. Two configurable digital I/O points and four dedicated digital inputs let the drive react to interlocks or occupancy signals, while the digital output stage sources up to 40 mA and two form-C relay outputs switch external contactors. Pulse feedback devices, including airflow pickup wheels, are accepted at frequencies up to 110 kHz. Motor wiring can be run in shielded conduit for distances up to 150 m without violating EMC limits. The Series Identifier 102 indicates compatibility across the VLT HVAC Drive product group.
The drive remains at full current in ambient temperatures up to 50 °C and maintains its rating at elevations up to 1000 m without derating, supporting installation in rooftop mechanical rooms or high-rise penthouses. It withstands sinusoidal vibration levels of 1.0 g, protecting the electronics when mounted on fan decks or pump skids. The control circuitry supplies field devices with a 10 V reference capable of delivering 15 mA and a 24 V terminal capable of delivering 200 mA, eliminating separate power supplies for most transmitters and switches. Shield continuity clamps and ground screws are included to support the allowable shield length while maintaining low-noise analog measurements.
