Product Description:
The 167F3771 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a modulated output that allows building automation systems to adjust the speed of centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors. By adjusting motor frequency instead of using mechanical throttling, the drive helps maintain airflow, water circulation, and temperature setpoints in industrial and commercial facilities. Variable-speed operation can also reduce unnecessary motor output when demand falls below the system's maximum capacity.
It delivers a continuous mechanical output of 150 HP, which corresponds to an electrical power capability of 110 kW. The input section accepts line supplies from 380–480 VAC, making it compatible with standard low-voltage distribution systems found in HVAC utility rooms. Outdoor or washdown installation is possible because the enclosure has an IP54/Type 12, N3R-ready with heat protection level that resists dust intrusion and splashing water. The signal electronics are protected by a coated PCB that guards conductive traces against airborne humidity and chemicals commonly encountered in air-handling spaces. These protections support operation in areas where equipment may be exposed to moisture, dust, or contaminants during normal use.
The power bridge uses three-phase power, enabling balanced current draw and smaller conductors than comparable single-phase arrangements. A built-in Safe Stop function interrupts firing pulses to the IGBTs when a safety circuit opens, allowing the motor to coast without a mechanical brake. To suppress conducted emissions, a factory-mounted RFI filter attenuates switching harmonics so the drive can share switchboards with sensitive building-management devices. Field wiring passes through standard cable entries, eliminating the need for auxiliary gland plates while preserving the enclosure's protective integrity. The drive is intended for network-controlled fan and pump applications and does not rely on a local control panel for routine commands.
