Product Description:
The 134N1388 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It is installed between the utility supply and a centrifugal fan or pump motor in building automation systems. The drive modulates output frequency to match air-handling or chilled-water demand, which can reduce energy use, limit mechanical stress, and provide smoother control than across-the-line motor operation.
The unit accepts an input voltage range of 380–480 VAC and uses three-phase power, allowing connection to common industrial power systems without a transformer when the available voltage is compatible. Its motor output is rated at 110 kW, which corresponds to 150 HP. An IP21/Type 1 enclosure with a mains shield provides protection against accidental contact and vertically falling water droplets when the drive is installed in a suitable indoor location. Field network communication is available through the factory-installed PROFIBUS DP MCA 101 card, allowing speed references, operating status, and diagnostic data to travel over the network. Cable terminations enter through standard gland plates in the Adaptation A configuration, keeping power and control wiring organized at the enclosure entry points. The drive can regulate fan or pump speed in response to external commands from a building management system, sensor loop, or local controller.
A coated printed circuit board helps protect the control electronics against condensation and airborne contaminants that may occur near cooling towers, mechanical rooms, or return-air plenums. Control logic and parameter memory can remain active during brief supply interruptions through the optional MCB 107 24 V DC backup, allowing the control section to remain powered from an external 24 V DC source. The drive has no brake chopper, making it suitable for fan and pump applications that normally decelerate by coasting rather than through rapid regenerative braking. Applications requiring short stopping times must use a compatible external braking method or allow sufficient deceleration time to prevent excessive DC-bus voltage. The standard language package provides commonly used interface languages for parameter entry, status review, and fault diagnostics through the drive’s control panel.
