Product Description:
The 134F3650 is an AC variable frequency drive supplied by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Within HVAC systems, it modulates the speed of induction motors so that pumps and fans match real-time demand instead of running at a fixed frequency. By adjusting motor voltage and frequency, the unit supports energy-efficient control of airflow, chilled-water circulation, and exhaust systems in commercial or industrial plants. Variable-speed operation can also reduce unnecessary mechanical stress caused by continuously operating motors at full speed.
This model delivers a continuous mechanical output of 11 kW, which corresponds to 15 HP at the motor shaft. It accepts a mains supply ranging from 380–480 VAC and is wired for three-phase power, allowing direct connection to common industrial distribution panels. The drive housing meets the IP55/Type 12 enclosure rating, protecting the internal electronics from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets when the unit is mounted outside a sealed cabinet. A factory-installed filter meets RFI Class A1/B (C1) limits, reducing conducted emissions on the supply line and supporting electromagnetic compatibility with nearby building systems. These electrical and enclosure characteristics allow the drive to operate in demanding HVAC installations while maintaining suitable protection for its internal components.
Field networks are handled through the A-option slot, which carries a PROFINET MCA 120 interface for real-time communication with PLCs and building management systems. Local setup is performed using the detachable Graphical Local Control Panel, which provides direct access to operating parameters without requiring an additional programming device. The drive has no brake chopper, so regenerative energy produced during rapid deceleration must be managed by the motor or suitable external braking equipment. The printed circuit boards do not have a conformal coating, which should be considered for installations exposed to high humidity or possible condensation. The B-option, C0, C1, D, and mains-module positions are unpopulated, leaving the unit with a basic configuration for ventilation, pumping, and other variable-torque HVAC applications.
