Product Description:
The 131Z9969 AC drive is part of the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series from Danfoss. It modulates motor frequency so air-handling units, pumps, and condensers maintain the required flow or pressure while reducing energy use in building automation. Variable-speed operation also helps limit abrupt starts, which can reduce mechanical stress on connected equipment during routine load changes. That makes it suitable for ventilation and water systems where load demand changes throughout the day.
Its input circuit accepts a mains range of 380 - 480 VAC, allowing installation on common facility supply networks in mechanical rooms. The open chassis construction has an IP20 / chassis rating, so the drive must be placed inside an enclosure to prevent accidental contact with live parts. An integrated RFI filter attenuates conducted emissions to meet EMC limits for commercial sites. The design omits an internal brake chopper, so applications that require fast stopping must add an external resistor assembly. Control boards are not coated, so the air inside the panel must stay clean and dry. The front door hosts a graphical local control panel that provides menu navigation, trend views, and manual speed commands without additional tools. When a supervisory controller is present, the optional PROFIBUS DP MCA 101 card exchanges setpoints and status words over the fieldbus, eliminating discrete wiring.
The drive can accept feedback from temperature or pressure transmitters through the MCB-114 VLT Sensor Input card, enabling direct PID regulation. Conduit routing is simplified by standard cable entries, and the mechanical layout matches normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames. Control functions run on the latest release of standard software, which includes HVAC macros, energy logging, and automatic tuning. All converter stages are designed for three-phase power, so single-phase sources are not supported. This arrangement allows the drive to manage sensor-based control loops directly inside the unit instead of relying on separate external logic for basic regulation. That can keep fan or pump output closer to the actual demand signal during normal system operation.
