Product Description:
The 131X8261 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It serves as the power-conversion element in ventilation and hydronic equipment, taking fixed-frequency utility power and delivering a variable-frequency output. This adjustable output allows building controllers to regulate fan or pump speed according to changes in temperature, pressure, or flow demand. In air-handling units and chilled-water loops, variable-speed operation can improve energy efficiency while reducing the mechanical wear associated with across-the-line motor starts.
The drive accepts an input range of 380–480 VAC and uses three-phase power, allowing direct connection to common industrial electrical systems without phase conversion. An internal RFI filter suppresses conducted emissions and helps the installation meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements in control cabinets. The aluminum enclosure has an IP66 / NEMA 4X rating, protecting the electronics against dust ingress and high-pressure washdown water. Daily parameter access is provided by the front-mounted graphical local control panel, which supports menu navigation, fault-log review, and manual run commands. The drive does not include a mains disconnect option, so appropriate upstream disconnecting and overcurrent protection devices must be installed separately. Its sealed enclosure allows the unit to operate near ventilation or pumping equipment where airborne debris and moisture may be present.
The available expansion positions are left unused in this configuration. Slot B requires no adaptation, and the A, B, C0, and D option positions do not contain additional input/output, fieldbus, or motion modules. Dynamic energy dissipation through the drive is unavailable because it has no brake chopper, so applications with regenerative loads require an appropriate external solution. The drive uses uncoated circuit boards, relying on the sealed enclosure rather than conformal coating to protect the internal electronics. It also lacks the C1 emission option, so external filtering may be necessary when an installation must meet stringent residential emission limits. The standard control functions remain available through the local control panel and the drive’s built-in HVAC control features.
