Product Description:
The 131X6405 is a variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Installed in air-handling units, chillers, and pump skids, the unit converts fixed mains power into a regulated output that matches motor demand. This control method can lower energy use while providing precise airflow or fluid control within automated building systems. The drive accepts a supply range of 380–480 VAC, making it suitable for standard 400-volt distribution systems commonly used in commercial and industrial facilities.
The drive uses a three-phase power input, so it does not require the derating associated with operation from a single-phase source. Its IP55/Type 12 backplate enclosure resists dust and water jets, allowing installation in suitable mechanical rooms without an additional cabinet. Line interference is reduced by the built-in RFI filter, which limits conducted emissions that could affect nearby building management electronics. Local setup and status information are available through a detachable graphical local control panel that presents text and icons on a backlit screen. The unit has no brake chopper, so an external braking resistor cannot be connected for rapid dissipation of regenerated energy. Deceleration settings must therefore account for the motor load and the energy returned to the DC bus.
The drive includes a backplate for open drive backs on Frame A5, B, and C housings, allowing heat from the heat sink to enter the switchboard airflow. The circuit boards have an uncoated PCB finish, so the unit should be installed away from condensing moisture and corrosive airborne contaminants. The product belongs to the VLT HVAC Drive group and carries the internal series identifier 102. Its A, B, C0, C1, and D option slots are unused, leaving the corresponding accessory functions uninstalled. Adaptation B is not included, and the mains section does not contain an additional mains option. These selections provide the standard power configuration without added option modules or adaptation features.
