Product Description:

The 131X2787 AC frequency converter is built by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. This product functions as a variable-frequency drive that regulates induction motor speed in ventilation, pumping, and compressor systems used throughout commercial building automation. Integrating the converter into air-handling units or chilled-water loops allows controllers to match motor torque to real-time demand. This control can reduce operating noise, maintain stable process pressures, and eliminate the need for mechanical throttling under many operating conditions.

It accepts a 380–480 V AC supply and delivers a proportionally modulated output, allowing direct connection to standard distribution networks without step-up transformers. The input section uses three-phase power, which provides balanced loading across the supply lines. Conducted emissions are suppressed by the integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, supporting installation in residential and light-industrial areas when applicable installation requirements are followed. Local setup is handled through the detachable Graphical Local Control Panel, which provides access to operating parameters, status information, and trend readouts. The drive has no brake chopper, so regenerated energy requires another method of management when the application involves rapid deceleration or an overhauling load.

The electronics use an uncoated printed circuit board, so the converter should operate in clean, noncorrosive air or inside a suitable sealed cabinet. Its menus include the Standard Language Pack, providing access to multiple display languages without requiring additional language files. All auxiliary option slots are blank, including the A, B, C0, C1, and D positions. The mains adapter card position is also empty, leaving the corresponding interfaces available if compatible option modules are needed later. Proper cabinet ventilation and suitable clearance around the converter help remove heat generated during continuous motor control. Installation should also protect the internal electronics from conductive dust, moisture, chemical vapors, and other airborne contaminants that could affect an uncoated circuit board.
