The 131L7841 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Designed for fan, pump, and compressor duty, the unit regulates induction-motor speed to match airflow or water-flow requirements in building automation. By modulating output frequency and voltage, it lowers energy use and mechanical stress in ventilation and chiller systems. Within an automation panel, it connects to three-phase motors and integrates with building-management networks to support demand-driven operation and tighter temperature and pressure control.

Electrical compatibility begins with a wide input range of 380–480 VAC, allowing the same model to operate across most commercial power grids. It is built for three-phase power and therefore pairs directly with standard HVAC motor circuits without step-down transformers. The enclosure has IP20 chassis protection, so it must be installed inside a cabinet while still guarding against accidental finger contact. Mechanical layout follows normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, which provides pre-drilled patterns and consistent airflow paths. An integrated RFI filter attenuates conducted emissions, simplifying compliance with EMC limits in sensitive building environments.

System integration features are concentrated on user and control accessories. The drive ships with the BACnet MCA 109 communication card, enabling native exchange of setpoints and alarms with BACnet MS/TP networks. Local automation can be expanded by the MCB-109 I/O with RTC backup board, which adds digital inputs and a real-time clock that maintains scheduling during power loss. For extended blackout events, the MCB-107 24 V DC backup module supplies low-power control voltage so parameter memory and fieldbus activity stay energized. Operators navigate parameters through the Graphical Local Control Panel, which uses the unit’s standard multilingual language pack.
