Product Description:
The 131L0393 is a variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Within an air-handling unit or chiller plant, it modulates induction motor speed so that fans, pumps, and compressors follow real-time load instead of running at fixed frequency. By matching motor torque to demand, the drive helps lower energy use and reduce wear in commercial and industrial climate-control systems. This makes it suitable for variable-air-volume systems and pumping loops that benefit from adjustable speed rather than throttling.
This model is powered from 380–480 VAC and is intended for three-phase power networks with a common protective earth. Field integration is supported by the A-option card, LonWorks MCA 108, which lets the controller exchange setpoints and status on a LonWorks building bus. Conduit access is provided through standard cable entries, and I/O expansion is handled by the B-option MCB-109 I/O with RTC backup, which adds extra terminals and a battery-backed clock for timed control sequences. Mechanical installation follows standard cabinet mounting for A, B, or C frames. The drive has no internal brake chopper, Adaptation B is not included, and the C, C0, C1, and D option slots are empty. The printed circuit boards are not coated, so the unit should be mounted in a clean, dry enclosure.
User interaction is handled through the graphical local control panel, which provides menu navigation, parameter editing, and trend readouts. Electromagnetic compatibility inside switchboards is supported by the integrated RFI filter, and the chassis has an IP20 chassis protection level that helps shield live parts from incidental contact after installation. A separate mains disconnect is not included, so upstream isolation must be supplied externally. The drive uses the standard software release and includes the Standard Language Pack.
