The 131H1777 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. As a dedicated HVAC drive, it modulates induction motor speed to match air-handling or water-circulation demand, which can improve energy use and reduce mechanical stress in building automation systems. The converter can regulate equipment such as fans, pumps, and other motor-driven HVAC components in response to changing operating requirements. It is intended for cabinet installation, with the front panel positioned for convenient access during setup, operation, and maintenance.
The converter operates from three-phase power and delivers a regulated output for compatible induction motors. Its IP20 chassis housing protects against accidental contact with hazardous internal parts while allowing installation in a dry control cabinet. A front-mounted graphical local control panel provides parameter access, operating data, and trend information without requiring a separate display. The mechanical layout supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing the enclosure to align with the applicable VLT frame arrangement. The converter has no installed electromagnetic compatibility filter, so any filtering required for the application must be provided separately. The available option positions are left open, allowing compatible accessories to be selected according to the control and communication needs of the installation.
Power and control wiring enter through standard cable entries, providing a conventional routing path into the chassis. The interface includes a standard language pack, allowing operating information and parameter menus to be viewed in multiple supported languages. Internal electronics are assembled on an uncoated printed circuit board, making the converter better suited to clean electrical rooms than to locations with corrosive gases, conductive dust, or persistent moisture. Appropriate cabinet ventilation and contamination control help protect the exposed board surfaces during operation. The drive has no brake chopper, so it cannot directly control an external braking resistor during rapid motor deceleration. Applications that generate substantial regenerative energy may require a separate braking arrangement or a deceleration profile that keeps the DC bus within its allowable operating range.
