Product Description:
Danfoss supplies the 131G1430 as a variable-frequency drive in the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. The controller regulates centrifugal pumps, fans, and compressors by adjusting motor speed to match building-management setpoints. This variable-speed operation can reduce unnecessary energy consumption when HVAC equipment operates below peak demand. The drive fits panels based on the FC 102 frame layout and supports common control arrangements used in air-handling systems, chilled-water loops, and ventilation equipment.
The inverter delivers a maximum motor output of 37 kW, which corresponds to 50 hp for medium-sized induction motors. Its input and output stages use three-phase power, so no phase-conversion equipment is required. The enclosure has an IP21 / Type 1 rating, which protects internal components against finger contact and vertically dripping water. It is intended for dry-room mounting with B, C, D, and E frames, allowing the heat sink and ventilation path to follow the supported frame arrangement. The printed circuit board is uncoated, so the drive is intended for clean indoor spaces without persistent condensation, corrosive vapor, or excessive airborne contamination. External line protection, disconnect equipment, and harmonic mitigation components can be selected according to the installation requirements.
User interaction is handled through the factory-supplied graphical local control panel, which provides readable menus, operating data, and trend displays without requiring a separate programming device. Power and control wiring pass through standard cable entries in the bottom plate, helping maintain organized routing within the enclosure. The drive has no brake chopper, so applications with significant regenerative energy require a suitable external method of controlling deceleration and protecting the DC bus. The unit also has no RFI filter installed, and the installation must account for conducted electrical interference when applicable. Its base configuration does not include additional adaptation modules, allowing the required control accessories to be selected for the intended HVAC system. The available panel interface supports local start and stop commands, parameter adjustment, status review, and fault monitoring directly at the drive.
